Mr. M

Synopsis: The skin color of Frankenstein's Monster has undergone various changes. In the novel, the monster has yellow skin, but after undergoing various changes, most monster-related commercial products are currently represented with a greenish color. The yellow skin is not an accidental expression, and the context of the warning against xenophobia is clearly implied in the novel. Mary Shelley was a contemporary of anthropologist Johan FriedrichBlumenbach. In his research, he constructed a classification of the skin color of five races, and classified East Asians as yellow by naming Mongolia, invoking the image of threatening conquerors like Ghengis Khan. Mary Shelley's narrative of skin color and race through the monster is rarely mentioned, and the euphemistic green skin is employed as a permissible representation of risk-free skin color to be used for entertainment.

Mr. M can't stand it anymore.
